


Residential sub-divisions include: Southgate, Stately Pines, Pinedale, Bryan’s, and Old Towne.Īs a visionary, his strong interest and concern for his fellow man and the betterment of Craven County led to a lifetime of leadership and community service. Over the years they developed numerous office and commercial properties in Eastern NC including McCarthy Square. Lonnie and Shirley returned to New Bern in 1960 and, in partnership with lifelong friend Tommy Karam, they established Tryon Developers and Tryon Realty. He attended East Carolina University before moving to Greensboro to work for Commercial Credit. He married his childhood sweetheart, Shirley Taylor, February 28, 1953, and together, they raised four children.
